Why Being Well Matters

About Me

Hello, I'm a mother, mentor, business woman, leader, business coach, therapist, Rotarian, yoga teacher, part of the Scout Movement as an Explorer Leader, and Treasurer and joint founder of Hereford City Repair Cafe.  I've created successful businesses, established Boards - I’ve had the privilege to collaborate with, learn from and lead some incredible people and teams to success.  In addition to helping individuals to thrive and transforming businesses, I have worked in the NHS caring for carers - supporting them through traumas and shifting them from triggers to glimmers.

Leadership (in both the private and the public sector) can feel like a lonely place......do you feel confident and secure enough to be yourself? to perform at your best? I'll work with you, as a trusted partner using a variety of tools and interventions, to understand your aims and your priorities.

Together, we'll identify a plan and bring it to life. What's in my toolbox?

  • Business coaching including executive and leadership coaching and mentoring (ILM Level 7) - AC Fellow - ADHD coaching experienced and certificated - over 20 years coaching in the private (multi-national) sector and NHS
  • Therapeutic coaching and Trauma therapy including T-CBT Emotional Freedom Technique (PGC Trauma Therapy / Psycho-Traumatology)
  • Business start up experience including Board recruitment, engagement and development
  • Due diligence and governance
  • Large scale recruitment and reorganisation, mergers, acquisitions and cultural alignment
  • Organisational / individual mental health risk assessments - First Aid for Mental Health - supervision and workshops - from awareness sessions to train the trainer (accredited by Nuco Training)
  • Personality profiling and development assessments
  • Workshops for leadership, communication skills, confidence, self-compassion, wellbeing, resilience and self-care

And to boost your personal well-being and performance

  • Yoga classes (and 1:1)

  • Clinical Reflexology including Duopody, NeuroEndoPsychoImmunoPody and Calm (for mental health & somatic healing)

You must be able to trust the person you are engaging to help you, to understand your needs and to deliver high quality work, efficiently with return on your investment.

I will assess your needs in discussion with you, and ensure that my advice and delivery is tailored to achieve the best possible result for you. If I am not the right person for the job, I will tell you. No client is too big or too small in needing an expert guide - contact me for an informal chat.

Workplace Wellbeing

Forbes, Newsweek, and People Management have all reported that Generation Z places exceptional importance on mental wellbeing and a balanced approach to work. Employers are increasingly facing pressure from staff to prioritise health and wellness initiatives. With the widespread experience of remote working, employees have gained greater flexibility in managing their workdays, allowing them to balance professional responsibilities with family and personal commitments.

However, many employees have observed an increase in "work-creep"—including longer working hours and expectations for out-of-hours communication—that has caused work to intrude into personal life rather than adapt around it. As employers transition teams back to full-time office-based work, the benefits afforded by homeworking have been withdrawn, leaving employees seeking ways to preserve aspects of that flexibility. According to the ONS report on Personal Wellbeing in the UK (April 2022 to March 2023), ratings for personal wellbeing declined during the period, influenced by factors such as environmental concerns, the cost of living crisis, and increased demands associated with returning to office work—including commuting and childcare costs.

The 2025 UK Wellbeing Report from Oxford University and the Wellbeing Research Centre notes that “an additional 650,000 UK adults—enough to fill Wembley Stadium more than seven times—have fallen below the Happiness Poverty Line compared to the previous 12 months.” Employers play an essential role in this context; enhanced mental wellbeing can increase productivity, foster creativity, and support recruitment and retention efforts. Investing in mental wellbeing is both financially prudent and ethically responsible.

I can undertake a thorough assessment of mental health risks coupled with a comprehensive wellbeing programme; let’s establish your organisation as an employer of choice. This will also equip leadership teams with the tools to confidently support neurodivergent team members and ensure compliance with Health and Safety Executive requirements.

I deliver workshops focused on self-compassion, self-care, and self-confidence, as well as leadership development and team building. Additionally, I offer personality profiling and tailored development plans. My approach involves collaborating closely with your organisation to identify specific needs and customise sessions accordingly.

Employer Responsibilities

The Health and Safety Executive says that employers have a responsibility to support employees with a mental (and / or physical) illness, and consider what workplace support might be helpful.  The considerations can be tricky if the employee is unaware of the factors contributing to mental illness, and therefore the factors that will improve wellbeing / mental wellness. I can work with all parties to help identify those factors and share a road map to success with you.  If you'd like I can also help with the implementation of the road map.

Being Well for Individuals

I support professionals to re-establish their sense of self, define success in their own words and wholeheartedly demonstrate their authenticity to achieve that success.

Using a client-centred approach, we will decide together on the best approach to take, whether that's as a therapeutic coach, a business coach, a yoga teacher or a blend.

As a trauma coach I can use a variety of specific techniques but follow a triphasic model, beginning with stabilisation.  Once you feel secure we can move on to work on some of the traumas, at times returning to stabilisation but moving forwards little by little.  And you will feel in control, empowered even, as you step into the third phase where you develop the skills to reconnect with joy and positivity.

If you're looking for support with stress and anxiety, I will work with you so we understand your habits, coping strategies, the signs and triggers.  I gently but firmly challenge you to establish and practice new habits and coping strategies to deploy as you notice the signs and triggers.  These become second nature in time, so you feel more calm and resilient.

As a neurodivergent individual you might be noticing shutdowns, meltdowns, confusion, frustration, lack of motivation.  We'll work together to identify whether you're experiencing burnout, perhaps compassion fatigue if you're in the care / health sector.  Once you have an understanding of yourself in your working / home environment, we'll work to establish an authentic plan including the setting of boundaries and self-advocacy.

Yoga classes, whether 1:1 or group sessions, are suitable for all and focus on relaxing, unwinding, stretching and finding the space to breathe.  Gitananda yoga is a traditional Indian yoga practice based on Patanjali's 8 limbs of yoga.  In a class we largely practice Hatha yoga (Jattis, Asanas and Kriyas) and Pranayama (breathing techniques).  We always finish with relaxation.
